ߤߥߋߕߊߣߎ ߞߎ߫ߟߌߕߐ߫ ߣߎߥߌߥߊ Annual 9 Day Ancestor Festival at Gànlɔdó

Greetings to everyone. It was our intent to introduce our first annual 9-day ߞߎ߫ߟߌߕߐ߫ Kúlítɔ (ancestor) festival which would have started today. However, due to Covid 19 we are not able to have a full festival. However, we will be doing proper ritual and prayer. Normally, there would be an annual parading of the agan (masquerade) from various families. Each family would have an agan representing certain ancestors. The consecrated agan embodies the spirit of the ancestor and they are honored yearly through singing their praises and parading. This being national ancestor month is a perfect time to carry out such a profound ceremony. Though we praise our ancestors all the time, this is a very ganji (auspicious) time to do so on a large national scale. This year is special for Gànlɔdó as it ma...

Fongbe Primer: Functional Fon Language for Our Everyday World

Fongbe Primer: Functional Fon language for our Everyday World is the first book written by an "African American" on the Fon language spoken primarily in Southern Benin Republic, but also in as wide a range extending from Southwest Nigeria to Ghana; also used as a ritual language in Brazilian Candomble as Jeje, and as the basis for the creole language of Ayiti (Haiti). Fongbe Primer is an excellent work for those in the beginner to intermediary stages of studying the Fon language of Southern Benin Republic. Fongbe Primer contains not only a dictionary and many complete phrases, but it is rich with terminology expressing the deep history and philosophy of the people. Many African Vodún terms are included and explained. For the first time we have an intelligible, easy to study and read Fon-E...

ߞߎߟߌ߫ߕߐ߫ߤߐߣߜߏ National Kúlítɔhɔngbó Ritual Cycle

While others celebrate the ancestors of the invading pilgrims under the misleading term of "Thanksgiving Day", we will be engaged in a powerful cycle that calls our ancestors to this earth to assist us with family, rejuvenation, nation building, sovereignty, and justice. Join us as we dutifully carry out our cyclic Nùwíwá Kúlítɔhɔngbó. Kúlítɔhɔngbó is a scheduled ritual cycle that is not only for the veneration for our elevated ancestors, but also for the cleansing and rebooting of sorts for our Afrikan communities. Keep in mind this is cycle in Afrikan Vodun and has nothing to do with any European holiday. It happens to fall on this day. For information of what this powerful period is about, and how you can contribute to the energy of this cycle, contact us at info@ganlodo.com....
