Crown Day Anniversary: 14 Years as Axosu

Crown Day Anniversary: 14 Years as Axosu

It was 14 years ago on this date that Ayìnɔ̀n (Ajã way to say H.I.M. but lit meaning Owner of the Earth) Àgɛ̀lɔ̀gbàgàn Fáwɛnságun Sagbaju Jǐsovì Azàsinkpontín Àgbɔ̀vì I, was crowned as the first and only àxɔ́sú (monarch/king) in the Ajã culture outside of Ajã-land (Togo, Benin, Ghana, Badagri). Due to his wishes, this historical coronation took place in Dallas, Texas over the weekend that preceded the final day of the 3-day ceremony occuring on the Gregorian calendar on September 27, 2010. According to our calendar, this historical date was Dokun 12, 6251. This resurrected the crown of his forebearers from Xevie (Hevie...Southern Benin Republic), his Royal House of Xwelɛngbɔsu, and the creation of another branch of that house called Azàsinkpontín.

It would be a little short of two years later, on Võto 23, 6253 (May 12, 2012) after a family trip to Benin Republic and after careful planning, that he would found the first and only Ajã monarchy outside of Ajã -land - the Maroon Monarchy of Gànlɔdó. It would be two years after that that he would commission the signature crown of this monarchy called the Aza Sika, or Golden Crown of Gànlɔdó (depicted on this page).

Ayìnɔn has been adamant in displaying the importance of applying a Maroon worldview to Afrikan cultures and the sacred Vodún tradition in particular. Partly this is done through his 23 publications and his Esoteric Vodún Video Series.

Though today marks the official day of coronation, we will be celebrating Ayìnɔn's crowning and achievements, and contributions to the culture from Dokun 12 - 16, 6265 (Sept 26-29, 2024). Contact us on how you can come by special invite. Read more about Ayìnɔn's royal lineage here>>>>
